NOTE: Before enabling ACH in SPRAYE, please reach out to your Fiserv/Clover Connect representative to enable ACH in your Cardpointe account. ACH is currently only available in the United States.

The ACH feature through the Fiserv CardPointe integration facilitates electronic funds transfers between bank accounts, enabling a secure and efficient way to process payments.

If your company is setup with FISERV to process payments (and you already have ACH enabled in your Cardpointe account), your customers will have the ability to pay via ACH or credit card if you opt to enable this feature. It is an optional feature that can be turned on from your global settings.

How ACH Works

  1. ACH can be used as a payment method in the same way as credit card payments.
  2. ACH can be saved to a customer's billing profile for use with autopay and/or running a manual ACH transaction.
  3. ACH processing times are typically 1-4 business days.
  4. Reversals for incorrect charges can be implemented from your Cardpointe account directly (they cannot currently be handled directly in SPRAYE).

How to Enable ACH for Your Customers

  1. Go to your Global Settings page
  2. Scroll down to the  Credit Card Processing section
  3. Toggle on the option next to ACH under the Fiserv section
  4. The scroll down to the Invoice Settings section
  5. You will also see an optional field to enter a convenience fee if you want to pass the ACH fee on to your customers. (Legal notice: Please check with your state laws and regulations regarding ACH before implementing it for your business.  Some states do not allow convenience fees for ACH transactions.)
  6. Once this is enabled, customers will have the ability to choose "ACH" as a payment method on any of your normal payment or autopay sign-up screens.

How to Check ACH Status

Unlike credit card payments, when a customer authorizes an ACH payment, the funds are withdrawn directly from his or her bank account. This process can take several days.  We have built in a feature that allows you to check the status of ACH payment through SPRAYE. To check the status of an ACH payment, you can click on the invoice # in question and scroll to the payments section to see the status of an ACH transaction. To get an update on that status, you can click the checkbox next to that invoice while on the Active Invoices screen and click the "Check ACH Payment Status" button.

Understanding ACH Rules and Regulations

Before you begin, you should review and understand the rules and regulations concerning ACH payments.

The National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA) governs the industry-standard requirements that all merchants and service providers must abide by. The NACHA Operating Rules and Guidelines is a formal standard that outlines specific rules for accepting and processing ACH payments and data security guidelines to protect sensitive account information. As a merchant, it is your obligation to review and abide by these guidelines. To obtain a copy of the NACHA Operating Rules and Guidelines, see https://www.nacha.org/rulesyourway.

Additionally, the ACH Payment Services Operational Guidelines Overview provides helpful information for understanding and complying with the NACHA rules and guidelines.
